Time to enjoy some local Queenstown attractions before your afternoon Lord of the Rings Tour to discover the back country scenery of Glenorchy and the Dart River visit the filming locations for Isengard, the Ithilien Camp, Lothlorien forest and the Seat of Seeing/ Battle of Amon Hen, plus filming locations from The Hobbit trilogy! This scenic safari offers breathtaking mountain and forest views along the shore of Lake Wakatipu towards Glenorchy and the Paradise Valley. Beyond Glenorchy travel up the Dart Valley to the filming location for Isengard, set amongst snow-capped mountains beside the turquoise waters of the Dart River This setting offers views of Mt Earnslaw and its hanging glacier, used in the first instalment of The Hobbit trilogy. 9.30 am Pick up from your hotel. You may like to enjoy the world famous, thrilling Shotover Jet Boat ride with 30 minutes of action packed, adrenaline pumping fun or add the scenic Gondola ride (Cable car) one of the steepest in the world to the Skyline Queenstown and take in the spectacular mountain and lake views. As your tour ends after lunch either stay on in Queenstown or return to Christchurch with your guide.
