Thank you both for a lovely trip last month – it was wonderful to see the herons as well as the West Coast for the first time plus other South Island alpine and hill country
We did enjoy the trip, especially the amazing heron viewing, delicious food and extended good driving. Such a shame we couldn’t do the Haast bit due to the road closure, but that’s not your fault.
There were so many special places for me, if I have to choose the highlight it would be the White Heron Sanctuary, waterfalls and the rugged riversides
I enjoyed tasting whitebait patties again, it bought back memories of growing up on the West Coast when they were in abundance.
The highlight had to be the herons and their chicks. Dion was such an enthusiastic guide with a real depth of knowledge about the birds and the bush.
However seeing my first ever rifleman at the Blue Pools was also pretty special for me.
You did really well with your choice of accommodation and dining – both were great especially the meal at Cardrona.
Have some beautiful memories of the trip – thank you
One of my highlights was being picked up for dinner in the limo, also walking in the Treetops & the White Heron Sanctuary Tour
